Logline
A notorious outlaw gang in the 1880s robs a train in Minnesota and then crosses into Canada to lay low with the tribe of their Indigenous-Canadian sharpshooter for the winter. But their escape runs them smack into a clandestine effort by the Canadian Mounted Police to quell a zombie outbreak during the forced resettlement of the Indigenous tribe.
Synopsis
Post Civil War, brothers SCOTT and MAC ADAM MILES have made an infamous name for themselves robbing banks with connections to the KKK. But now they are robbing a train carrying valuable silk-worm cocoons on the Canadian border in the name of a different injustice: the forced resettlement of Indigenous Canadian people, the Métis. After the daring heist, the Miles Gang crosses the border to lay low with the tribe of their Métis sharpshooter, ALBERTA. Alberta plans to use the money to reinvigorate her people’s diminished role in the Canadian fur trade. The Métis have failed in two rebellions against the Royal Mounted Police, so Alberta hopes that becoming reliable investors will make the Government respect them. But when she and the Gang arrive in her people’s valley, they discover that a third violent uprising has already begun, sort of. Everyone in the region has been infected by a zombie plague that mysteriously arose in a hospital where the Government sends sick immigrants to be lab rats and die. So now, Infected Métis and Mounties—whose hatred for each other hasn’t died—are tearing each other to pieces in the freezing cold in a horrifying new chapter of their 100-year conflict. The Gang has to run-and-gun their way out of the undead battlefield. Loyalties are tested, brother turns against brother, and the hero might just be the Infected version of Alberta—whose love for her family hasn’t died—as she fights her way through the chaos to find them.
