DORIAN CARLI-JONES

Writer, Producer, Director

Dorian Carli-Jones is a queer Brazilian-American filmmaker based in New York City. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Dorian grew up making art in a variety of media, from drawings and paintings, to wax and ceramic sculptures, in addition to home movies.

Since attending film school at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, he has worked in the worlds of cinema, television, theatre, and commercials, and has directed several short films that have screened at festivals around the globe, as well as web series, comedic skits, and music videos.

Fascinated by worlds both real and fantastic, Dorian’s films run the gamut, from the NYC-set queer relationship drama Exchange, to the Nebraska-set coming-of-age tale Target Practice, to China Remix, his award-winning documentary on the mid-2010s African hip-hop scene in Guangzhou, China. In addition to his own projects, Dorian works professionally as a producer of commercials, branded content, and motion graphics.
