WILLIAM WINSTON
Writer/Director
William Winston is a filmmaker and screenwriter based in New York’s Hudson Valley. After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in film production, his filmmaking journey began again in the nonfiction space as a visual anthropology/anthropology of media graduate student at Rutgers, where his work earned him a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
His narrative short films have screened at New York Shorts International Festival, Hayti Heritage Film Festival, Seattle Black Film Festival, NYC Comedy Festival, and the Tootsie’s Video Vault showcase. His screenwriting work has been recognized by the Page International Screenwriting Awards, HollyShorts, Stowe Story Labs, ScreenCraft, Austin Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, WeScreenplay, Roadmap Writers, and more.
