ANNA CLARE SPELMAN (she/her) is passionate about stories that focus on healthcare and human rights, particularly in immigrant and LGTBTQ communities. Her work has been nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy, named a Vimeo Staff Pick and has been recognized by the GLAAD Media Awards, the Webby Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Awards, Pictures of the Year International, and NPPA Best of Photojournalism among others. As a journalist, she collaborates on stories with outlets like TIME, Al Jazeera, Univision and The New York Times. A short film she co-directed and filmed premiered at the Boston Jewish Film Festival in November 2022. Her first feature film as a director, MEANT TO BE MADDIE, is currently in post production. She graduated with an MA in Visual Communication from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she was a Roy H. Park fellow.
