MEMBERSHIP FOR FS Europe

New member applications for our Spring 2026 workshop are now open!

Applications are due by January 11, 11:59pm CET, and the season begins on February 24 and ends June 2.

We encourage all applicants to attend one of our virtual open house events on January 6, 12pm ET (6pm CET) or January 7, 8pm ET (January 8, 2am CET). RSVP on Eventbrite here.

(Existing Filmshop members: Please fill out our separate returning member application to apply for the coming season. Do not fill out the form on this page.)

Filmshop Europe is a weekly virtual works-in-progress workshop for independent filmmakers based in Europe who seek a community and support culture for their film projects, as well as U.S.-based creators with projects that are set in Europe or relate to a location in Europe. We will also be addressing regionally relevant topics (e.g., different approaches to co-producing or funding that may arise in the EU).

Before you apply, please keep in mind:

  • While we welcome participants from across the EU (and beyond), the working language of this group is English (and your application must be filled out in English).

  • If your project is in a language other than English, please make sure there is an English translation / English subtitles.

  • In order to be eligible, you must be actively working on a project you’d like to workshop with the group. (Questions about what this means? See the “What project do you plan to workshop” section of the application below, or read more here.)

  • As part of your application, you will need to submit a work sample (which can be derived from your current project but doesn’t need to be).

  • In addition to filling out this application form, applicants may be asked to speak with a current Filmshop member via a phone or video call for an informal interview.

  • Members are expected to miss no more than 3 meetings per season (out of 13 total). Our meetings take place Tuesday nights on Zoom, 6:00 to 8:00PM CET.

  • Dues for the season are $150. We also offer financial aid for those who are unemployed or underemployed; priority is given to artists from communities that are underrepresented in the industry. If you are interested in applying for discounted fees, you will be able to request a financial aid form once accepted.

  • It is free to submit an application.

We look forward to learning more about you!
