Deb Szczepkowski, aka “Deb Zep,” has been working in various aspects of the world of video production since 1999.

Mostly focusing on Post Production, Deb has worked as the First Assistant Editor on several feature length documentaries….Exporting Raymond, a comedic doc on the creator of Everybody Loves Raymond going to Russia to consult on the Russian version of the show, Fat, Sick, and Nearly dead, one man’s story of using herbal methods to fight off a life altering skin disease, Black Magic, an ESPN presentation on the history of the struggles African Americans have faced in college and professional basketball, and Crazy Love, a documentary featured at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival on the story behind the tabloid romance of a woman who married the man who hired thugs to blind her.

Editing work by Deb can be found on the enhanced CD of the debut album of Turkish/American Singer/Songwriter Sinem Saniye.
Deb has also edited several short films, including “Bunny Love,” an amusing short discussing the relationship issues of a Burlesque dancer.

Other editing assistance includes work on the trailer for “The Kielce Project,” a documentary on outbreak of violence against the Jewish community of Kielce Poland on July 4, 1946, “Johnny Montana” a fictional feature which ran at the 2006 San Francisco Indie Film Festival, PBS’s “The Learning Child Series,” and “Personal Velocity,” a fictional feature by director by Rebecca Miller that took the 2002 Sundance Grand Jury Prize.

Deb has also spent time outside of the editing room, taking on the role of assistant director and production coordinator on “Red Legged Devils,” a feature on The Fifth NY, one of the most decorated and respected units of the American Civil War. Other production work has included Production Coordinating/Management on the projects, “A Question in Time,” a fictional short on a well liked local homeless man who hold a surprising secret, and MNN’s documentary short on the Theater-Studio Inc.

Deb has also stuck her foot in the world of Reality TV production, assisting on Season 4 and 5 of “The Apprentice,” and doing Videography and Editing for the Apprentice task development department. Other Reality work includes assisting in the filming of the pilot episode of the Lifetime series, “Mom’s Cooking.”

Deb also has done Cinematography and Editing for Singer/Songwriter, Pete Pidgeon, for the music video “Unprotected,” shown at The Filmshop’s Presentation Event at the Music Hall of Williamsburg Feb 2010.
